Vent-Free gas Logs and Heaters
|
What is ventless gas, you ask? To be a certified vent-free unit, the burner must precisely mix fuel and air in order to achieve complete combustion (99.9% complete). It is unburned gases that are the harmful byproduct known as carbon monoxide.
For added peace of mind, all vent-free units are equipped with an oxygen depletion sensor (ODS) as part of the safety pilot assembly. This component automatically shuts the unit off in the event of low oxygen levels that would lead to improper combustion. Ventless gas units require only a gas hookup and are therefore extremely easy to install.
Furthermore, since no venting is needed, the location of the heater is far more flexible. Better yet, with no heat wasted out of a flue, these units are serious heaters—producing a full 32,000 BTUs of usable heat!
The stunning cast iron Townsend II (pictured above left in almond porcelain-enamel finish) and Hepplewhite freestanding stoves are the newest vent-free offerings from Buck. These units are available in both a porcelain (glossy) finish or flat black. The flat black models can be painted any color desired.
Buck rounds out its vent-free line with several log sets ranging from 18" to 30" in width and several complete zero-clearance fireplaces either with or without factory built wood mantels. All vent-free products have available blowers, too—and nothing aids in heat distribution better.
In addition to Buck's wonderful line of products, Monessen Hearth Systems also has several fantastic looking vent-free gas log sets, free-standing stoves, and complete zero-clearance fireplaces. When it comes to elegance, realism, and function, nothing compares to the Monessen Kentucky Stack vent-free log set.

Vented units such as the Duzy II are not as efficient as ventless models, but what they lack in efficiency they make up for with flame realism. And at 17,000 BTUs of radiant heat produced, the Duzy II is no slouch in the heating department either. All gas appliances that we sell can be operated via remote control as well.
And, if you are interested in a zero-clearance, direct-vent fireplace, Monessen again has the best selection to choose from. Click on Monessen's link at the top of the page to check out all of their vented logs and direct-vent fireplace systems. And stop by our shop if you can to see these fine logsets in action.
